Don't You Love Summer?

7/22/04

T-minus 12 hours and counting until the great road trip west to cooler country begins, and I can barely keep Erin from bouncing off the walls. We leave tomorrow, headed towards Ruidoso, NM. We will spend the first and last night of vacation in Fort Stockton. In between we will spend a week in New Mexico and couple of days at the Grand Canyon and a week in California. Sounds great!

July has rushed by. Erin has taken two rounds of swimming lessons and is now swimming a decent back stroke, rudimentary breast stroke, and a little American crawl (although she remains less than enthusiastic about keeping her face under water). We also had a tremendous week at Vacation Bible School.

Davis has made a new friend, Alan Brilliant, poet and book maker (really, he sews books, so don't try to place bets through Davis). He also plays chess which is the connection that Davis made with him.

There is no news on the medical front. Erin shows no sign of tumor symptoms. We had a urine test done on the 12th, but the results won't be back until early August. Erin has quarterly scan appointments on August 10-13, plus some other tests that happen once a year, so I guess we will get the results then.

Thanks for stopping in and try to stay cool. That's what we'll be doing.
